Skills & Experience:

• Began his career in banking before joining McKinsey & Company as Engagement Manager.
• Over 26 years of experience in the insurance and investment sectors, 20 of which with the Allianz Group.
• Whilst at Allianz he occupied several executive roles in different European countries (Germany, Belgium, Netherlands). More recently he was CEO of Allianz Direct Benelux, before joining Allianz Maroc as CEO and the Allianz Africa board in 2018.
• Joined MUA in September 2022 as Group CEO.

Qualifications: Master in Management ESCP Europe (Paris, France).

Skills & experience:

• Started his career with the American bank JPMorgan in Paris in 2006.
• Joined Feber Associates (now part of MUA) in 2009 as the Manager. From 2014 until 2023 he oversaw the group strategy, with extensive involvement in the African subsidiaries, strategic marketing and digitalisation and also supervised all the group’s investment and asset management activities.
• In September 2023 he became CEO of MUA Tanzania.

• 1964 – 1967: Regional Sales Manager at the International Trading and Credit Co. of Tanganyika Ltd (INTRATA).
• 1968 – 1973: Department Manager at the State Trading Corporation.
• 1973 – 1976: Business Manager at Tanzania Portland Cement Co. Ltd.
• Currently Shareholder and Director of various companies, including Speedways Ltd, Nitro Explosives T. Ltd & Nitro Logistics Co. Ltd; he is also Shareholder and Chairman of Machines Consultancy Ltd.
• He held various District and Regional Positions in Lions Clubs International from 1979 - 1990.

Citizen and Resident of Mauritius

Qualifications: Master in Business Administration from the Université de Bordeaux IV (France).

Skills & experience:

• Financial specialist with more than 20 years' experience in financial analysis and structuring, cross-border transactions, corporate valuation, finance raising and financial strategy, also expert in stock exchange related matters, from IPOs and takeovers to delistings. 
• Broad experience in insurance operations. 
• Worked for more than 15 years at PwC. 
• Joined MUA in 2016 as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions.

Maheboob Alibhai was born and raised in Kenya and educated in Canada. Resident of Kenya. Actively involved in the acquisition of Phoenix of East Africa Assurance Company Limited from Sun Alliance in the United Kingdom in 1992.  subsequently he founded the Phoenix Assurance Group of Companies as greenfield and licensed operations in Tanzania (1999), Uganda (2003), Rwanda (2006), Zambia (2009), Botswana (2009), Mozambique (2012), Namibia (2015) and Swaziland (2016).

He is the Chairman of the Phoenix Assurance Group of Companies which operate in  Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Swaziland, and a Director of MUA Insurance (Kenya) Limited, MUA Insurance (Tanzania) Limited, MUA Insurance (Uganda) Limited and MUA Insurance (Rwanda) Limited.

Founding member of the Young Presidents’ Organization Chapter in Nairobi – YPO Gold Nairobi Chapter, member of YPO Africa Great Lakes Chapter, YPO Africa Great Leopard Valley Chapter, member of YPO Pan Africa Chapter, member of Chief Executives’ Organization (CEO) and a founder member of TiE Africa.

Founder of a number of successful start-up businesses in Eastern and Southern Africa, as well as acquiring existing businesses.

Qualifications:

He has master’s degrees in law from both the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Columbia University in New York, USA, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Northeastern University in Boston, USA.

The Tanganyika Law Society, Law Association of Tanzania, East Africa Law Society, International Third World Legal Studies Association and African Society of International and Comparative Law. The Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators and an Accredited Mediator, Negotiator and Arbitrator in Tanzania.

Skills and Experience: has over 20 years’ experience advising domestic and international financial institutions and corporations on corporate, regulatory and transactional matters. Wilbert has advised on numerous project finance, public private partnership (PPP) and infrastructure development transactions including roads, railways, sea travel and airports. Wilbert has also advised numerous multinational mining companies and oil and gas exploration companies with operations in Tanzania in the natural resource space including local content requirements. Prior to entering private practice, Wilbert was a Senior Lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Dar es Salaam where he was a member of the teaching and research staff for seventeen years.

Isaac Kiwango is a Management and Development Consultant with over twenty five years of professional experience, much of which has been in consultancy and research services, his key skills are in Financial Management, Market Analytics, Consumer Behavior, Organizational Development, Quantitative and Qualitative Surveys, Monitoring and Evaluation, Human Resource Development, Capacity Building, Institutional Development and Training in the areas of leadership and organizational development and performance management. Isaac Kiwango is a founding and managing Director of KIM Consulting. KIM Consulting has been at the forefront of consulting for businesses and government for the last eighteen years. 

With a general background in financial management possessing solid managerial and supervisory experience, detailed understanding and knowledge of the business policies and processes in the country, Isaac Kiwango was for a period of about ten years, a consultant and advisor to Tanzania Private Sector Foundation as an apex private sector organization, providing a focal point for the articulation of private sector-led approaches to Tanzania’s economic and social development.
